I’m Kelly Presley, the owner and grower of Copper Fox Flowers, a unique, small-scale flower farm in Wethersfield, Connecticut.
The heart of our mission is to bring people beauty and joy through our local flowers that are grown safely and sustainably. We produce fresh, gorgeous blooms and are committed to using responsible farming practices and materials that keep us and the environment healthy.
Flowers have been woven into the fabric of my life since childhood when the intense fragrance and beauty of my grandparents’ lilacs drew me into the world of flowers. The magic and excitement that comes with the emergence of new sprouts each spring never gets old and I’ve tended plots of flowers all my life.
After decades working in environmental conservation and raising a family alongside my husband, I began to wonder what should I be doing next. Finding myself mid-career and with our children grown, I could see something new on the horizon. Something that brings happiness and inspires people to appreciate the beauty in nature.
A few months of quiet contemplation led me to one particular flower farming workshop that brought the answer into focus - get back to the flowers! Digging into the dirt and watching the magic unfold in the garden is what grounds me most. It’s time to share that magic and get gorgeous blooms into the world one lovely bunch at a time. But where to start?
In late 2021 I decided to build a flower business and dived into every flower farming book and workshop I found. Soon after, we settled into a wonderful home in Wethersfield with enough land for a flower farm endeavor. It was happening! The first flower bulbs were planted in fall 2022 and I enthusiastically planned for the coming seasons. Winter was spent starting seeds indoors and springtime welcomed new flower beds where I practiced growing and harvesting techniques. I tried to keep up with the bountiful harvest with most flowers given to friends, family and co-workers and I provided buckets of blooms for a colleague’s summer wedding.
In 2024, Copper Fox Flowers launched and we’re thrilled to share our floral bounty with you!

Why Copper Fox?
The land where our house and flower farm are situated is also home to a family of foxes. We began crossing paths within weeks of our arrival.
First it was one fox visiting. Then it became two. After denning season, kits emerged and frolicked among the rows of flowers, often in a group of three. When I work in the garden the foxes observe, occasionally hopping over the fence to get a closer look or nap in the shade of the sunflower patch.
In addition to being my garden companions who normally watch from afar, this crew has naturally kept down the rodent population, even keeping the woodchucks at bay. It’s been a win-win situation! Well, except for when the youngsters decided the irrigation lines were playthings and chewed holes in them - but we’ll still chalk it up as an overall win.
When it was time to select a business name, Copper Fox Flowers was the perfect fit.
